IS300 Dead Pedal
This project has definitely been the one I get the most use of. For some reason Toyota decided that only RHD AE86s would have dead pedals, making it moderately uncomfortable to drive a manual LHD in traffic where you're on and off the clutch often. One of the first parts I bought for my Corolla was a set of Lexus IS300 pedals, which are a bolt on upgrade over the original ones. Now that I had a matching set of gas, brake, and clutch pedals, I thought I would try my hand at fitting an IS300 dead pedal in the car as well.
I bought a used pedal from eBay, part number ______.
It mostly fit, but required a bit of trimming on the top so that it sat at a nice angle. The bracket follows the inner structure of the pedal and creates a bride between that and the floor pan of the car. There is structuring added to the bracket to prevent crushing or side to side play so that you can really rely on it to be secure. Lastly there is a small metal bracket that lines up with OEM threaded holes for a bolt-in solution.
